Australian Open 2023: Tsitsipas reaches the men’s singles final, to face either of Djokovic or Paul

Stefanos Tsitsipas reached the final of the men’s singles category today at the Australian Open 2023. He beat Russian tennis player Karen Khachanov in a close match 7-6 (7-2), 6-4, 6-7 (6-8), and 6-3 in the fourth set.

Tsitsipas who is from Greece has played sensational tennis throughout this Grand Slam. He was seeded third before the beginning of the tournament and has rightly proved his ranking. He currently has zero Grand Slam titles to his name as he has always been knocked out in the later stages of the tournament.

This is the first time he is going to play in the final of the Australian Open. This will be only the second Grand Slam final of his tennis career after losing to Novak Djokovic in a five-set thriller at the Roland Garros French Open in the year 2021.

He would want to change his fortunes this time around and finally have his hands on the glorious trophy. He has had a flawless run till now at the Australian Open and same kind of performance is expected from him in the finals.

In the semi-final match against Khachanov, he hit 18 aces which tells how strong his serve was throughout the match. His backhand was also very strong and he gathered some extra points with the help of his exceptional backhand.

Karen Khachanov gave his all in the match but Tsitsipas proved to be a better player today. Khachanov can be very proud of his run at this year’s Australian Open as he has improved a lot. Everyone will be waiting to see more of him in the next Grand Slam.

Stefanos Tsitsipas will now face either of Novak Djokovic or Tommy Paul in the finals of the Australian Open 2023 which is going to be played on 29th January 2023 at the Rod Laver Arena.
