Australian Open 2023: Stefanos Tsitsipas or Karen Khachanov, who is going to reach one step closer to the ultimate dream?

The 2023 season of the Australian Open is in its last phase where the semi-finals and finals are left for all five major categories. The men’s singles semi-finals will take place tomorrow with both matches set to be played at the Rod Laver Arena.

In one of the men’s singles semi-final matches, Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas is going to come up against Russia’s Karen Khachanov tomorrow 27th January 2023 at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne Park, Australia.

It will be the first semi-final match of the men’s singles category which will begin from 9:00 am IST tomorrow morning. Stefanos Tsitsipas is seeded third whereas Karen Khachanov is seeded eighteenth at this year’s Australian Open.

Stefanos Tsitsipas, a 24-year-old tennis star from Greece, has been in impeccable form in this Australian Open. He did not even drop a single set until the third round and beat his opponents very comfortably. His fourth-round match was probably one of the best matches of this Australian Open.

He faced Jannik Sinner in the fourth round where Tsitsipas came out on top after thrilling five sets. He beat Sinner 6-4, 6-4, 3-6, 4-6, 6-3. The third seed Tsitsipas then moved on to the quarter-finals where he faced Jiri Lehecka and beat him in straight sets quite dominantly. He will now face Khachanov in Australian Open 2023 semi-final for moving one step ahead to the ultimate dream of every tennis player.

Karen Khachanov, a 26-year-old tennis player from Russia, has been the underdog in the men’s singles event at this Australian Open 2023. He has reached the semi-finals very dominantly and has played an exceptional level of tennis which was not really expected from him.

On his way to the semis, he has beaten B Zapta Miralles in the first round, Jason Kubler in the second round, 16th ranked Frances Tiafoe in the third round, Yoshihito Nishioka in the fourth round in straight sets, and Sebastien Korda in the quarter-finals where Korda retired in the middle of the third set due to an injury.
