Pro Kabaddi League Season 7 commences from the 20th July 2019. Bengal Warriors have always started their campaign on a good note but have always failed to move further in the tournament. This year Warriors have done a very wise team selection, retaining some of their star players such as Maninder Singh, Baldev Singh, and other promising players such as Ravindra Kumawat and Adarsh T who are yet to play their first match.

The side has also spent a handsome amount of 77.75 lakhs to acquire Iran’s star all-rounder Mohammad Nabibakhsh, who is also the most expensive foreign player of the season. He has absolute strength and necessary skills to take away the game from the opposition, which he has done for his national team several times.

Here’s why Bengal Warriors may win their maiden title this year:

#1. Experienced Raiding Department

Maninder Singh, who would be leading the side, will also be the lead raider for the side, followed by Sukesh Hegde and K Prapanjan, who have pretty good experience under their belt.

K Prapanjan has raised his game in recent times, leading to his selection in the Bengal Warriors side. Owners have also signed Iran’s Mohammad Taghi Paeinmahalli, who has been a very consistent performer. Rakesh Narwal, Bhuvneshwar Gaur, Ravindra Ramesh are the other raiders who add to the strength of the raiding department.

The raiding department would be the one to watch out for, comprising of a perfect blend of youth and experience.

#2. Acquisition of Mohammad Esmaeil Nabibakhsh

Bengal Warriors have bought the Iranian star Mohammad Esmaeil Nabibakhsh for the whopping amount of 77.75 lakhs for their upcoming campaign in Pro Kabaddi League Season 7. In fact, he also becomes the most expensive foreign player of Pro Kabaddi Season 7.

Nabibakhsh is a star all-rounder with both departments ticked in equal measure. He is a complete player, who helped Iran earn the gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games. He was also very clinical in the Dubai Kabaddi Masters Championship that helped Iran win the silver medal.

Depending on the situation of the match, Nabibaksh can raid and also, defend in the game, without giving the opposition much space to breathe, and is known to thrive under pressure.

With so many good capabilities, it would be interesting to watch Mohammad Esmaeil in action, making his debut in Pro Kabaddi Season 7.

#3. Appropriate Mix of both Senior and Young players in the team

The Bengal Warriors Management has signed some good and promising youngsters for their upcoming season. Some of them include Baldev Singh, Bhuvneshwar Gaur, Adarsh T and they would be looking to make a mark in Pro Kabaddi Season 7.

Young blaze would give an edge to the team in the tournament because of their stubbornness, hunger to win, and added energy that may transpire to others in the team as well.

Captain Maninder Singh would be looking to bank on the capabilities of the youngsters, and by guiding them through the course of the league, get the most out of them.

Bengal’s coach BC Ramesh, who is known for working well with the youngsters, could be expected to bring out the best in the boys, which shall help Bengal organize their defense better.

With the raiding department already under experienced shoulders, if the defense can click, Bengal Warriors can do the trick.

Moments like these provide opportunities to youngsters to show their mettle and rise to prominence and with that at stake, one can expect the youngsters to give it their all in wake of achieving success.

The side has done well in acquiring the experienced defender Jeeva Kumar, who might not feature in all the games, but would certainly be the right man to mentor this young defensive unit.
