Women's Under-19 T20 World Cup 2023 : India beats England in the final to become the World Champions

India Women won the first Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup by defeating England Women by 7 wickets in the final. After ENG-W was bowled out for 68 runs, IND-W successfully chased down a modest target of 69 runs. In their chase against England Women, India lost both of their openers, captain Shafali Verma and top run-scorer Shweta Sehrawat, but Soumya Tiwari and Gongadi Trisha kept the scoreboard going. In the end, Tiwari scored the winning runs to send the Indian camp into a frenzy.

Earlier, ENG-W were dismissed for a meagre total thanks to the efforts of Titas Sadhu, Archana Devi, and Parshavi Chopra, who each claimed two wickets. Mannat Kashyap, Shafali Verma, and Soman Yadav each claimed one wicket. Only four batters from ENG-W could reach double figures, with Rayana Macdonald-Gay leading the way with 19 runs. India dominated New Zealand, winning by eight wickets, and advanced to the championship match.

Indian bowler Titas Sadhu won Player of the Match honours for her astonishing figures of 2/6. She was the sole pacer on this Indian team, and boy did she come through in the decisive match by taking the wickets of Seren Smale and Liberty Heap.

India accomplished it. In South Africa, these young women created history. India won the Women’s Cricket World Championship for the first time, and this accomplishment will live on in the annals of history for a very long time.
