This week, John Cena returned to WWE Raw after a long absence, and he accepted Austin Theory’s challenge for the US Title. As he approached the ring, the Leader of the Cenation was overcome with passion. Before the 16-time World Champion could finish speaking, Theory cut him off.
Theory immediately issued a challenge for a fight at Wrestlemania 39 against Cena. Surprisingly, the previous American champion declined to compete. Cena eventually agreed after a proper segment with his opponent, but he cautioned Theory that he would lose everything even if he triumphed on the biggest stage of them all.

Austin Theory has really been touted to be the next John Cena since his comeback to the current roster in 2021, and he has been defending the United States Championship since regaining it at Survivor Series 2022. Even though Cena is no longer a part-timer, it is almost certain that he will win over the young talent.

Cena, who works as a full-time performer in Hollywood, will only appear once at Wrestlemania 39. He will fight at the Show of the Shows for the first time since Wrestlemania 36. At Wrestlemania 36, Cena faced Bray Wyatt in his previous Wrestlemania battle.
The 45-year-old Leader last appeared in the WWE in the final show of SmackDown in 2022. He and Kevin Owens battled Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn with victory.

In contrast to his sole televised battle in 2021 against Roman Reigns at SummerSlam, Cena only participated in one match in 2022. In 2021, he did participate in non-televised contests. Cena greeted Cody Rhodes and the two hugged after his segment with Theory came to a close. In the Wrestlemania 39 main event, Cody is scheduled to face Roman Reigns for the Undisputed Universal Title.
