Twitter reacts After MS Dhoni's "Last Phase Of My Career" Declaration

Following his team’s seven-run victory over SunRisers Hyderabad on Friday, Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni dropped bombshell after bombshell, discussing everything from the difficulty of handling Dwayne Bravo to his disappointment at not winning the best catch of the match award.

However, after the 41-year-old made a suggestion about potentially retiring, Dhoni’s post-game press conference quickly became emotional. Dhoni responded that he is “enjoying the last phase of my career” when questioned about the CSK fans at the Chepauk.

“However long I play, this is the end of the road for my career. The supporters have had the chance to watch here for the past two years, and it feels fantastic to be there. The crowd has shown us a lot of love and support,” Dhoni stated following the game.

But Dhoni’s post-game comments set up a Twitter frenzy. After the 41-year-old intimated that his tenure with CSK is in its “last phase,” fans became a little emotional.

Speaking of the game, Dhoni’s team defeated SRH on Friday night at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, giving the home crowd enough to cheer about. Opening batsman Devon Conway notched his third IPL season half-century, and Ravindra Jadeja claimed three key wickets.

Conway hit an unbeaten 57-ball 77 and shared an 87-run partnership with Ruturaj Gaikwad (35) for the first wicket as CSK chased down 135 and won with eight balls remaining.

On April 23, CSK will play their next game against KKR.
