Chris Gayle has hit the most number of sixes in an innings. In the 2016 edition of the T20 World Cup, Chris Gayle hit 11 sixes against England and scored a fabulous ton off just 48 deliveries. Will this record be broken in the upcoming T20 World Cup? We will have to wait and see.
Chris Gayle has represented West Indies in 103 tests, 301 one-day internationals and 58 T-20 matches in which he has scored 7214, 10,480 and 1727 runs respectively.
#2. Chris Gayle: 10
The West Indies legendary cricketer has also sealed the second spot in the elite list. Gayle struck 10 sixes in an innings while playing against South Africa in the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup. He went onto score his maiden century in the T20 World Cup. Interestingly, it was also the first century ever to have been scored in a T 20 World Cup.
#3. Yuvraj Singh: 7
One of the all-time greats of the game, Yuvraj Singh was a special cricketer. A match-winner, Yuvraj Singh was one of the sweetest timers of the ball the world has ever seen.
Sitting at the third spot in the list, the name takes us back to the epic game where Yuvraj smacked Stuart Broad for six sixes in six balls. He made 58 runs off 16 balls in that game, including seven sixes and three fours with an unbelievable strike rate of 362.50.
#4. David Warner: 7
Arguably, Australia’s most destructive batsman of the current era, David Warner seals the fourth spot in the list with seven sixes to his name.
The southpaw played a beautiful knock of 72 runs off 42 deliveries against India in 2010 edition of the T20 World Cup, in which he smacked seven sixes.
Overall, Warner has played 79 T20 matches, managing to score 2207 runs at an average of 31.5.
#5. Chris Gayle: 7
Yes, you read it write. Chris Gayle features for the third time in the list. That’s how much he likes playing T-20 cricket. No bowler would want to bowl against him once he gets going.
In the 19th match of the 2010 edition of the T20 World Cup, Gayle smacked seven sixes against India. He played a fabulous knock of 98 runs off 66 deliveries to power West Indies to 196 in their 20 overs.
The West Indies eventually won that game by 14 runs.
