Best Batsmen for St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in CPL

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots replaced Antigua Hawkbills in the third edition of the Caribbean Premier League. After two years, they got the big deal by getting Chris Gayle in the team and this deal worked as Patriots entered into the first-ever final of CPL but unfortunately, they lost against Trinidad by 3-wickets. From the last three editions (2017, 2018 & 2019), Patriots have made into the playoffs every time.

Patriots have introduced some quality batsmen in CPL over five seasons. For the new season of CPL, they also added the hard hitter Chris Lynn and Ben Dunk in its batting unit.

#1 Evin Lewis (2015-2020)

Evin Lewis has been a key figure in St Kitts’s side. He played all five seasons for Patriots. The left-handed batsman is the top run-scorer for the franchise, scoring 1231 runs from 51 matches striking at 147.60. Lewis has hit record 92 sixes for St Kitts and he has the opportunity to hit 100 sixes in CPL to become 2nd CPL player to hit 100 sixes for a single franchise.

His best CPL knock was recorded in 2017 by smashing unbeaten 97 off just 31 strikings at 303.12 including 11 sixes. His 11 sixes in an inning was a CPL record which was broken by Andre Russell in 2018 with 13 sixes. He led his franchise to enter into the maiden CPL final with scoring 371 runs in 11 innings at an average of 41.22 and with the strike rate of 184.57.

#2 Fabian Allen (2017-2020)

The all-rounder has evolved himself and team management has put him ahead in the batting order to give some fireworks. He has been a key player for St Kitts in the last three seasons. He made his debut for Patriots in 2017 and in his first season, he led his side to the first CPL final.

Fabian Allen has scored 337 runs from 14 innings at an average of 37.44 striking at 181.18 and these runs came at down-order. His best knock came in 2018 against Trident, scoring unbeaten 64 off 34 balls to seal the game for Patriots. In 2019, he played a quick knock of 62 off 27 balls against Tallawahs.

#3 Marlon Samuels (2015)

2-times WC winner Samuels played only one season for St Kitts and was in top-class form. He accumulated 325 runs from 10 innings at an average of 40.62 and the strike rate of 130.

Marlon Samuels‘ top knock was recorded against Barbados, scoring unbeaten 71 off 54 balls. He also played a crucial knock of 61 against Guyana Amazon Warriors and 50 off just 31 balls against Jamaica Tallawahs.

#4 Laurie Evans (2019)

The English player got the reward of his T20 blast form and made CPL debut for St Kitts in 2019. He showed his top form in the debut season with managing 274 runs from just 9 innings at an average of 30.44 including two half-centuries.

Laurie Evans’s best knock in CPL was recorded against Barbados Tridents, scoring 64 off 41 balls. Evans guides the innings and provides the strength in the middle-order.

#5 Chris Gayle (2017-2018)

St Kitts got Chris Gayle in 2017 and The T20 superstar didn’t disappoint them. He played only two seasons for Patriots but made a big impact with his top batting as an opener. From 21 innings, he scored 659 runs at an average of 41.18 including 5 half-centuries.

In his debut season for the side, he was the top scorer with 376 runs in 11 innings at an average of 62.66. His knock of 54 helped Patriots to defeat Tridents in the qualifier game to enter into the first-ever CPL final. In the same year, he scored 93 off 47 balls with 8 sixes which is the best knock from him for St Kitts.
