The names include Serena Williams, Victoria Azarenka and Tsvetana Pironkova who scripted history by becoming the ‘First trio of mother’s’ to reach in the quarterfinals of the mega event.

These three women’s players outclassed their respective opponents to seal the quarterfinals clash and took one step closer towards clinching US Open title.

Taking about the match Serena Williams secured the quarterfinal berth after defeating Maria Sakkari. She outclassed her opponent by 6-3, 6-7, 6-3. She also created a new record at Arthur Ashe stadium by securing her 100th victory on this court.

Whereas Azarenka defeated Karolina Muchova in the fourth round before reaching in the quarterfinal.

Also, only three moms in the past have won the grand slam in the Open era: Kim Clijsters, Evonne Goolagong and Margaret Court. If any of these three women’s players wins the ongoing US Open title they will become the fourth player to get their names registered in the same feat.

Serena Williams is one of the top contenders to lift the women’s singles title out of the other two and also she is the most experienced player out of the trio and regarded as one of the best women’s tennis player who has played the game.
