Spurs beat Arsenal to stay on top of the table, Klopp delighted with return of fans in Anfield

Tottenham Hotspur retrieves the Premier League top spot with 2-0 victory over Arsenal on Sunday.

Son Heung-min’s scored the first goal for Spurs and Harry Kane scored his first of the game and 250th career goal for club and country as Tottenham beat Arsenal 2-0 to reach 24 points from 11 games.

Liverpool and Tottenham both teams top of the table with on 24 points, Though Tottenham sits on first position with better goal difference.

In other games of PL, 2,000 Liverpool fans were lucky enough to see their last season champion after a very long time and with only 2000 fans allowed in 60,000+ stadium, yet they made the atmosphere on what manager Jurgen Klopp felt was a “perfect night”.

A 4-0 win over Wolves was the perfect way to welcome their fans back and enjoy football who had not been in stadium pre-pandemic.

For Liverpool, goals from Mohamed Salah, Georginio Wijnaldum, Joel Matip and a Nelson Semedo own goal seemed a comfortable victory on a night of celebration for teams and fans.

Liverpool boss Klopp said he had goosebumps hearing fans singing and seeing them was really emotional

“It was very emotional. After 10 months without that it is a wonderful, wonderful sign,” he said.

“During the game was emotional, it was so nice to hear You’ll Never Walk Alone again.

“Having people in the stadium is another really good sign. Hopefully we can build on it as a society, not just a football society.

“People in the stadium were in the best shape and that was really nice.

“If none of my players or medical department tell me any player was injured it was the perfect night.

“It’s nice that we could give them back a little bit. Look, playing without fans is difficult but watching football knowing you usually would be there is difficult as well, so we are absolutely in the same boat.

“It was really nice to have that common experience.

“Getting out of the dressing room for the warm-up, that was a proper goosebump moment.

“It was really emotional, during the game it was emotional, it was outstanding.”
