Shelton Benjamin is an American professional wrestler, currently working with World Wrestling Entertainment on the Raw brand. Benjamin He is well-recognized for his incredible performance in New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) and Pro Wrestling Noah under the ring name Shelton X Benjamin.
Before becoming a professional wrestler, he is known as a two-sport athlete in his college. Benjamin achieved an NJCAA championship in track and field and collegiate wrestling as well. After completing his study in his junior college, he got his degree of graduation from the University of Minnesota.
In WWE, Benjamin held the Southern Tag Team Championship four times (three times with Brock Lesnar, and once with Rodney Mack). He also won the Intercontinental Championship three times, the United States Championship once and the WWE Tag Team Championship twice with Haas. During his tenure with World Wrestling Council (WWC), he won the Universal Heavyweight Championship once.

Shelton Benjamin was born on July 9, 1975, in Orangeburg, South Carolina, the U.S. He persuaded his academics from the University of Minnesota. After graduation, he worked as an assistant wrestling coach and trained with future Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) tag team partner Brock Lesnar.

PROFESSIONAL LIFE
Shelton Benjamin kicked off his professional wrestling career in 2000 when he signed a contract with World Wrestling Federation (WWF) and was assigned to its developmental territory Ohio Valley Wrestling. He formed a tag team with Brock Lesnar with the name Minnesota Stretching Crew. They won the OVW Southern Tag Team Championship on three occasions. Benjamin made WWE television debut on Sunday Night Heat.
In 2002, Benjamin formed an alliance with Charlie Haas to support Kurt Angle, having a team name as Team Angle. The duo started their feud with Benoit and Lesnar. They won the WWE Tag Team Championship by defeating the champions, Los Guerreros (Eddie and Chavo Guerrero) in 2003. Benjamin bagged his first single title in 2004 when he defeated Chris Jericho to win Intercontinental Championship at Taboo Tuesday. From 2004 to 2006, Benjamin became a three-time Intercontinental Champion.
Benjamin reunited with Haas in 2006 as The World’s Greatest Tag Team. The duo feuded with several tag team opponents including Cryme Tyme, Ric Flair and Carlito, The Hardy Boyz and Paul London and Brian Kendrick. In 2007, Benjamin had his hair blond just before leaving Raw, started to wear gold wrestling attire and referred to himself as “The Gold Standard.”
Benjamin also took part in several Independent wrestling promotions such as World Wrestling Council, American Wrestling Rampage, Global Force Wrestling and many more. He devoted his seven years from 2010 to 2017 to an Independent circuit. During his tenure with Ring of Honor, he became a two-time ROH World Tag Team Champion with Haas. He was also a part of New Japan Pro Wrestling and Pro Wrestling Noah.
Benjamin made his return to WWE in 2017, and then General Manager Daniel Bryan announced Benjamin as the new tag team partner for Chad Gable. In 2018, he participated as one of sixteen competitors in the King of the Ring. however, he was defeated by former tag team partner Chad Gable in the tournament’s first round.
Benjamin made his WWE video game debut as a playable character in 2003’s WWE SmackDown! Here Comes the Pain, WWE Day of Reckoning, WWE SmackDown! vs. Raw, WWE Day of Reckoning 2, WWE WrestleMania 21, WWE SmackDown! vs. Raw 2006, WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007, WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009, WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2010 and WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011. Benjamin appeared in WWE 2K19 and WWE 2K20.
