Selvam Karthi Biography
Indian field hockey player Selvam Karthi was born on September 1, of the year 2001, and he plays as a forward. Selvam Karthi participated in the 2022 Asia Cup as a member of the India national squad.
Early Life
Karthi is a native of the Tamil Nadu state of India and the town of Ariyalur. Karthi’s father Selvam is a security guard at a school that is run by the government. The second of three kids is named Karthi.
Karthi had his hockey training at the Sports Hostel for Excellence in Kovilpatti, which was run by the Tamil Nadu government’s Sports Development Authority, the state’s official sports body. Karthi was a graduate student at the SS Duraisamy Mariammal Arts College close to Kovilpatti as of the year 2022.
Playing Hockey Career
Following several strong showings for Tamil Nadu at the Junior National Championships in 2018, Karthi was added to the India national under-21 team. Selvam Karthi was included in India’s team for the Asia Cup in the month of May of the year 2022. Selvam Karthi was the first Tamil Nadu resident to be chosen for the Indian national team in 13 years, together with Mareeswaran Sakthivel. In the ninth minute of the first game against Pakistan, Karthi scored on his debut. The hockey game was tied with 1-1 at the finish. India defeated the hockey team of Japan 1-0 to place third.
