Saikhom Mirabai Chanu wins Silver medal for India In Tokyo 2020 Olympics rest expected players didn’t get ideal result on Day 2

The Day 2 of Tokyo 2020 Olympics didn’t pace out the way Indian fans wanted as ace shooters like Saurabh Chaudhary, Abhisekh Verma didn’t qualified for the next round in Men’s singles category.

Ace weightlifter Saikom Mirabai Chanu who was the sole player in weightlifting for  India in the ongoing Tokyo Olympics didn’t disappoint  1.3 billion fans as she went on to win a Silver medal for the country in the 49 Kg category.

Manipuri girl who came from a humble beginning and struggled for even managing her diet when she started playing this game professionally and also she left all the demons of 2016 Rio Olympics behind where she failed to qualify for Olympics but there is a popular saying All is well if it ends well and Chanu silver medal is a treat to watch for all Indian fans and it will certainly inspire lot of young girls out there to take up this beautiful game of Wrestling in years to come.

It will be interesting to see whether India can cross the tally of winning medals in double digits or not as some of the players who will be playing in days to come including the likes of Bajrang Punia, Manu Bhaker, Neeraj Chopra and PV Sindhu.

Let’s hope that we can put the result of 2 medals of Rio 2016 behind and win at least 10 medals in Olympics 2021.
