Star Indian batsman and Mumbai Indians skipper, Rohit Sharma has congratulated Real Madrid for winning the La Liga this season.
Rohit wished Zinedine Zidane and his men heartiest congratulations on winning the 34th La Liga title after its win against Villarreal by 2-1 on Friday. Sergio Ramos and co. also won their 10th straight game after the season’s resumption from coronavirus.
Madrid’s win was scripted by the striker Karim Benzema as he netted two goals to lead his side to 2-1 at the end of the match. On the other hand, their arch-rivals Barcelona, led by Lionel Messi suffered a humiliating defeat against Osasuna by 1-2 at home. After both the teams’ match, Real Madrid is now 7 points ahead of the Catalan side with 86 points.
Rohit Sharma posted a picture of him on his official Twitter account with a fist in the air, celebrating Madrid’s title-winning victory as he captioned: “Another title in the bag. The club has truly been mesmerising since they have resumed playing, dominating the opponents at will and registering back to back wins.
During Madrid’s win, Benzema scored two goals in the match, first one at the 29th minute while the second goal in a penalty shootout in 77th minute. Real Madrid now faces Leganes in its last La Liga match at Butarque on July 20 before the Champions League starts next month.
