Early Life

Dhillon, who is from Shamgarh in Karnal District, Haryana, was encouraged to participate in sports by her parents, Ravijit Singh Dhillon and Gul Dhillon, when she was a child. After moving to Panchkula, her mother, Gul, introduced her to numerous disciplines, including tennis, swimming, and Bharatnatyam.

Despite this exposure, at the age of 12, she chose to shoot, inspired by her great-grandfather, Jagirdar Gurinder Singh Dhillon, who had an astonishing collection of 20 guns. She began training at the Gagan Narang Shooting Academy in Pune and eventually chose skeet shooting as her specialization under the guidance of coach Amrinder Singh Cheema, a friend of her father’s.

Shooting Career

Her talent was on full display at the 2022 World Championships in Osijek, Croatia, where she competed in all three skeet events and helped India win the gold medal in the team competition.

In 2023, she continued to create news by representing India at the World Championships in Changwon, Korea, where she competed in both the skeet junior women mixed and individual events, winning silver in the individual skeet event. She also demonstrated her talent at Larnaca, Cyprus, where she competed for India in the senior skeet women’s individual and mixed team competitions.

Dhillon solidified her position in the international arena by competing in the Junior World Cup event in Suhl, Germany, in 2023, where she demonstrated exceptional skill and commitment.
