Rudrankksh Patil Biography
The story of Rudrankksh Patil is nothing short of inspirational. At the age of just 19 years, Rudrankksh Patil led the Indian contingent to a gold medal at the Asian Games in the men’s 10 meter air rifle category. At such a young age, Patil has seen a lot of highs and lows in his career as a sports shooter. With the constant support of his parents, especially his father, Rudrankksh is well on his way to becoming the next big thing in Indian shooting.

Early Life
Rudrankksh Patil has had a liking for sports since he was a kid. He was into cricket and football in his teenage years, but with them being team sports, his father always feared that there might be some politics involved. Hence, he encouraged Patil to take up shooting, and the 11-year-old kid immediately fell in love with rifles. Born in the small town of Thane into a middle-class household, Rudrankksh’s initial coaching was done by his family coach, Ajit Patil. His father, Balasaheb Patil, is an IPS officer in Maharashtra.
Shooting Career
The ability to stand still for longer durations, immense talent, and the zeal to work hard were the stepping stones in the beginning of Patil’s shooting career. He started shooting professionally as a 10-meter air rifle shooter in 2017 and has never looked back ever since.
After winning a gold medal in the 2022 ISSF World Shooting Championships in Cairo, Rudrankksh Patil earned his quota berth to the Paris Olympics. In the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, Rudrankksh and his teammates broke the world record and also won India their first ever gold medal in this category. The recent performances of this star shooter have been nothing short of extraordinary.
With the Olympics approaching soon, Rudrankksh is currently training under the guidance of coach Neha Chavan in Pune and looks all ready to maintain his world number 1 position and win India a medal in this category.
