1. Patna Pirates undefeated in their last 5 matches – The most successful team in Pro Kabaddi League history (4-time champions), Patna Pirates have remained undefeated in their last 5 matches. With 1 draw and 4 wins, the Pirates have climbed up to the 6th spot in PKL season 9 points table. They had quite a disappointing start to the new season as they did not win a single game in their first four matches but they are slowly coming back on track. The Pirates from Patna have found the balance, right combination and confidence – something that they lacked initially. Raider Sachin Tanwar and All-rounder Rohit Gulia have been at the heart of each win. Sachin scored 9 raid points against Delhi, 11 raid points against UP, 13 raid points versus Gujarat and 12 raid points yesterday against U Mumba. Whereas Rohit Gulia scored 27 points in those matches. In terms of raid strike rate – 53.49% against (Delhi), 41.3% (UP), 57.5% (Gujarat) and 37.21% (U Mumba).
2. Rahul Chaudhari completes 1000 Raid points in PKL career – Yesterday’s second match between Dabang Delhi K.C and Jaipur Pink Panthers where the latter prevailed by 5 points. Arjun Deshwal scored 16 raid points but Rahul Chaudhari stole the show despite collecting 6 raid points. The Veteran raider having played for various franchises in PKL completed his 1000th Raid point yesterday to go 3rd in the list of players with most raid points in Pro Kabaddi League history.
3. The Defending champions lose their 5th match in a row – After a blistering start to the season and remaining on top of the points table for almost 2 weeks, last season’s champions Dabang Delhi have dramatically crashed out and yesterday’s loss against Jaipur was their 5th successive loss in PKL season 9. Their poor run of play has seen them fall down to the 5th position in the Points table. Naveen Kumar and Ashu Malik were outstanding as usual as both shared 27 raid points between them but lack of support from other players made them lose the match by 5 points.
