International Kabaddi Federation Conducts Successful Elections in Nagoya, Japan
The International Kabaddi Federation (IKF) is pleased to announce that its elections were successfully conducted on 22 September 2026 in Nagoya, Japan, during the ongoing Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games.
The election process was conducted in a transparent and orderly manner under the observation of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA),and asian kabaddi federation marking an important step towards strengthening the governance and administration of Kabaddi at the international level.
Following the election, an 18-member Executive Board Committee has been constituted to guide the International Kabaddi Federation for the forthcoming term.
The newly elected leadership is:
Mr. Vinod Kumar Tiwari – President
Mr. Tejasvi Gehlot – Secretary General
Mr. Sompranchoo – Treasurer
The newly elected Executive Board will work collectively with IKF member federations across continents to further strengthen the international structure of Kabaddi, promote wider participation, develop athletes and officials, and expand the sport’s global reach.
The successful conduct of the elections in Nagoya represents an important milestone for the International Kabaddi Federation and reflects its commitment to good governance, institutional stability, international cooperation and the continued development of Kabaddi worldwide.
The IKF extends its appreciation to all member federations, delegates and stakeholders who participated in and supported the electoral process. The Federation also acknowledges the importance of the Olympic Council of Asia’s observation and support in maintaining confidence in the governance process.
With the new Executive Board in place, the International Kabaddi Federation looks forward to working with its national and continental federations to build a stronger, more unified and globally recognised future for Kabaddi.
