Early Life
Paramjeet Singh studied at Bairagana Inter College, Chamoli. His father Jagat Singh Bisht runs a small shop in Khalla village. Mother Hemlata Devi is a housewife. There was always a financial crisis in the family, but the family never let Paramjeet’s training slacken.
Paramjeet had learned the skill of running in the village itself. Actually, his school was three kilometers away from home. In such a situation, Paramjeet had to run 3 kilometers every day after completing the household work. Paramjeet’s hard work paid off and today he is achieving outstanding achievements one after the other in race walking.

By securing ninth place in the 20 km walk race of the Asian Race Walking Championship held in Japan, Paramjeet has qualified for the Paris Olympics-2024 and the World Championship. According to Paramjit Singh’s coach Gopal Bisht, Paramjit’s path to the Olympics opened with hard work and strong willpower.
The goal is to win a medal in the Olympics for the country. Since his school days, Paramjit had the goal of winning a medal in the Olympics for the country. Gopal Bisht, the sports instructor at Government Inter College, Bairagana, says that from the year 2017, Paramveer had started preparing for the walk race from the school itself under his direction.
Since there was no suitable ground nearby, he started preparing by taking a room on rent in Gopeshwar. School Games Federation of India’s under-17 and under-19 age group records are also in Paramjeet’s name. Paramjeet had also won the gold medal in Khelo India.
Apart from this, Paramjeet has also won medals in many competitions organized by the Federation. He also won a bronze medal in the Asian Youth Championship held in Hong Kong. Parmjit Bisht constantly tries to improve his game.
He has expressed hope that Paramjeet will bring glory to the country by winning a medal in the Paris Olympics. Paramjit Bisht was selected for the Indian Navy through sports quota last year. Since then he has been practicing at SAI Center Bengaluru.
Paramjeet topped in his studies. Coach Gopal Bisht said that athlete Paramjit Singh Bisht has been top in studies along with sports. Paramjeet passed the 10th and 12th class examinations in the first division. Currently, Paramjeet is completing his graduation. Paramjeet’s father Jagat Singh is a farmer. Paramjit Bisht’s mother is a homemaker.
