At the 39th All India Men’s Kabaddi Championship held at Gotegaon, Indian Navy Mumbai defeated PAI Sports Center, Harayana in the final by a very thin margin of just 2 points. The boys from Mumbai got their hands on the coveted shield and received 3 Lakhs INR as the winning prize.
The Finale took place at a chilly December weather and fans turned up in numbers to see their favorite players square off in the mat. It was great to see the zeal and energy of the fans who were doing nothing but supporting the Indigenous sport which is slowly on course to become a Globalized sport.
Meanwhile the players did not let the Fans down as both the teams produced an extra-ordinary final. The match went neck-to-neck and the result was decided in the dying moments of full time. The Final score line at the end of full time was 38-37.
Alongside the champions, the Runners-up PAI Sports Center received 2 Lakhs INR while the third placed team bagged home 1 Lakhs INR. One of the best things about the 39th All India Men’s Kabaddi Championship was that every player and team were felicitated with awards in order to encourage them to keep it up.
Once the finale concluded, State Minister Prehlad Singh Patel congratulated each and every team to participate in this Kabaddi event. Prehlad Patel also hailed the organizers for making the tournament a grand success. More than 50 Pro Kabaddi League players and match officials were present in this tournament.
