Bengaluru Bulls had a good Delhi leg, where they lost a close match to Dabang Delhi KC, and won the other match convincingly against the Jaipur Pink Panthers. The Bulls have played their last match of the leg and before heading back home to play the Bengaluru leg, and the following are the excerpts from their Press Conference:

Bengaluru Bulls coach Randhir Singh

Question-Defense was the highlight of the match, how do you see the performance and the three points, before the home leg?

Randhir Singh– This is a good win and important points for our team. We played well in the first half of the last match as well, but the weak defense in the second half cost us the match. Today I crossed all the limits to tighten up the boys, and glad that they responded. Pawan is already doing very well, but now Rohit will have to perform to his potential like he did today. I encouraged him and told him to back his skills. Jaipur is a strong team, although every team is strong, Jaipur has got 4-5 good raiders and I told the team if we strengthen the defense, we will win.

Question– Rohit, after this match’s performance how do you feel? Also, how much pressure do you have before the match?

Rohit Kumar– In the last match, I didn’t perform, but the coach insisted not to take any pressure, and stay calm. Soon, my timing started coming back and I regained my form. Whatever my coach says, has always turned right, I have utmost faith in him. (Coach interrupts stating that Rohit didn’t sleep a whole night)

Question– Sir, as an audience I want to ask you went off in the second half of the game. You also lost the last game by 2 points due to poor second half, Don’t you think you need to work on that

Randhir Singh– Yes, our performance did decline, but the lead was still 14. Throughout the tournament, we had a lead and as we know Jaipur Pink Panthers is a top-class team and is already top of the table. I also had plans for Dabang Delhi because when you perform against big teams, you build a name for yourself.

In the past, we have seen that our team win matches against big teams but lose to minnow teams. So I was expecting that we shall win against Delhi, but that wasn’t the case and they played exceptionally well.

Question– In the upcoming matches, how do you see your defense?

Randhir Singh– Looking at today’s performance, I would say we will reach the top, but our defense is like weather, it changes every day. Some days we are superb, and some days we perform like a second division side.

Question– How important was this win for you?

Rohit Kumar– It was extremely important, especially after losing the last match to Delhi. My coach inspired the team to play the game freely as this is the last match before the home leg. He asked us to not take the pressure, and we played up to the mark in the last match. We followed the strategy and played free.

Question– You crossed 50 points this season, how do you look at your form?

Rohit Kumar– I hope the season will go good for me and the team.

Question– Rohit’s performance was top class, how do you see his performance?

Pawan Sehrawat – I am happy for him. His performance was very important to me personally. If he didn’t score, then there would be added pressure on me and we wouldn’t have the second raider. We both support each other.

Randhir Singh –  Pawan looked relaxed today and gave away few easy points to the opposition, otherwise we would have gained at least 7-8 points. The good point was that he was assisted by his senior Rohit.
