At the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam, Dhoni reached this milestone by taking the catch of Prithvi Shaw off Ravindra Jadeja’s delivery. With this record, Dhoni has solidified his position as the record holder for most dismissals by a wicket-keeper in T20 cricket. He has 300 dismissals, comprising 213 catches and 87 stumpings.

Following Dhoni closely is, former Pakistani cricketer Kamran Akmal, who has 274 dismissals. Kamran has taken 172 catches and 102 stumpings. Indian veteran keeper Dinesh Karthik has an equal number of dismissals as Kamran Akmal. Dinesh’s 274 dismissals include 207 catches and 67 stumpings.

South Africa’s left-handed batter-keeper Quinton de Kock has 270 dismissals under his belt with 221 catches and 49 stumpings. While England’s Jos Buttler has 209 dismissals under his name with 168 catches and 41 stumpings.

These wicket-keepers are good but to break the record of MS Dhoni will take a lot of time. The 42-year-old is not only a talented wicket-keeper but he is also a great captain. He made his country proud in the international circuit by winning T20 World Cup, ODI World Cup and Champions Trophy. In Indian Premier League, he has won the coveted title 5 times as a captain.
