Phil Foden has been in a role, as his consistency is been the talk of the town. He came into the limelight ever since England won the Under-17 World Cup in 2017. Despite appearing moderately in Manchester City matches, his game has the ability to get adjusted and molded like David Silva.

As Manchester City gets in the EFL Cup for the third consecutive year with a victory over Aston Villa  Foden’s man-of-the-match award was fully deserved. At the age of 19, he plays in a much-matured way and has a vision that many older players won’t have. He plays with a maturity and vision way beyond his years.

When Manchester City begin their usual style of play post an opening shot from Villa, Foden was alert in all times and showed his game when Sergio Aguero put them ahead after 20 minutes.

However, it was better for Foden to react immediately when he received Rodri’s pass at the far post. And on the other hand, he saw Aguero in a more better situation to place and cut the ball back for the master marksman to complete the rest of the part.

Foden was a bitter hurdle to Aston Villa left-back Matt Targett throughout the day.  The team struggled with his techniques and confidence throughout the second half. The city has got the right player they needed when it comes to confidence and quoting him as the safest player for the future won’t be the wrong statement.

According to statistics, Foden’s stats he had a pass completion rate of 90.2%, had five shots and that crucial assist.

With City entering a whole new phase, as David Silva decides to end his decade-old journey, the club has got the right successor, in absence of Silva, Foden will get the right amount of exposure required to shine

So far, Foden has featured in 25 games this season, comprising the Community Shield, starting 10 of them, and has three goals and seven assists. In total he has been involved in 61 games, starting 24, scoring 10 goals and assisting 10.

The city is on the verge to lose the Premier League that was theirs for the last two seasons, which now will be inherited by Liverpool, but the team still remains a premium and deserving team in the competition.

Despite a setback of a two-year ban from the Champions League and a 30m euros (£25m) fine for “serious breaches” of Uefa’s financial regulations, the team still has delivered in the most outstanding way.

However, City has won the cup alongside midfielder Kevin de Bruyne, who is currently one of the best in the business in the world, on the bench for an hour, along with the players of the quality of Gabriel Jesus, Bernardo Silva, and Riyad Mahrez, while the outstanding goalkeeper Ederson handed over his place to Bravo in the tradition of this tournament.

The above names are some of the most prominent players and would be contributing in the best possible way for the long term future of the club, the group also includes a promising player like Foden
