Gabriel Jesus a.k.a the Little Neymar is a Brazilian footballer who plays as a forward for the Brazilian National Team and Premier League club Manchester City. Gabriel debuted in professional football through the club Palmeiras. While playing for the club, he helped to conquer the 2015 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, as well as the Copa do Brazil, due to which he was named as the Player of the Season. In 2017 he joined the Manchester City for a transfer fee of 32 million Euros, where he assisted the club to win the FA Cup of 2019, EFL Cup of 2018 and Premier League of 2018. He has also been an integral part of Under 20 FIFA World Cup. Jesus had also brought a gold medal for Brazil at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Playing from the senior side he has been a part of 2018 FIFA World Cup and 2019 Copa America.

Gabriel was born on 3rd April 1997 in Sao Paulo, Brazil to Vera Lucia Jesus and Diniz de Jesus as their fourth and the last child. There are speculations that as being the last child and baby of the house comes with lots of advantages, but for Gabriel, it was quite different.

His mother till now is very strict and is instilled with discipline due to which Gabriel was treated just like his elder brother and sisters only. Gabriel grew up beside the streets of Jardim Peri, playing football. Gabriel since the age of five was used to play football as a Central Midfielder and then as an attacker, his speed and endurance were considered great as guns.

After playing for several youth teams, Gabriel performances grabbed the attention of some bigger clubs when he scored 29 goals for the amateur club Anhanguera Associacao Paulista while playing under-15 tournament. At the age of 15, an agent of Gabriel sends him to the trial of the club Palmeiras, Brazil’s one of the most traditional club. Within a year he acquired his place in the senior side of the team, but at the time when the senior side was flirting with relegation from Brazil’s top flight.

He single headedly lead the team to lift the 2015 Copa do Brasil and 2016 Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A. In the opening game of the national season, Gabriel netted two goals in the second half, thus solidifying his team win by 4-0. He scored 12 goals as the team won their first national championship since 1994. For his performances, he was named Bola de Ouro player of the season. In 2017, January he signed the Premier League Club Manchester City on a contract until 2021 for a 33 million Euros. Gabriel made his first appearance for the team on 21st January 2017 as a substitute replacing Raheem Sterling against Tottenham Hotspur in a draw.

After a week, he assisted Sterling as a part of Manchester City’s starting XI  in a 3-0 win against Crystal Palace in FA Cup. Playing for Manchester city afterward Gabriel, helped the club to conquer EFL Cup of 2017-18, FA Cup od 2018-19 and the  Premier League of 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons. On 22 June 2019, Gabriel switched his Jersey from number from 33 to 9. For the Brazilian national team, Gabriel has been linked with Brazil U20, U23, and the Senior team respectively. He was the part of Brazil’s 2015 U20 FIFA World Cup that ended as runner-up, he was also the part of U23 2016 team that won the Olympic gold medal at the 2016 Olympics, for the senior side he played an integral part of the team to lift the 2019 Copa America title.
