Leeds United star taunts Arsenal & Manchester United ahead of FA Cup clash

Leeds United star Ezgjan Alioski insists that his side is more than capable of beating struggling Manchester United and Arsenal.

Marcelo Bielsa’s in-form Leeds come to the Emirates on Monday evening to face the Gunners in FA Cup showdown.

They sit at the top of the Sky Bet Championship and with the mission of ending their 16-year Premier League exile.

Both Manchester United and Arsenal are enduring a tough run of form. The Gunners sit tenth in the Premier League standings while Manchester United are also out of the top four.

There will certainly be no fear, according to their 27-year-old winger, Ezgjan Alioski, not even after Arsenal’s 2-0 win over rivals Manchester United on New Year’s Day for Mikel Arteta’s first win as head coach.

Looking ahead to Leeds’ trip to north London, Leeds star Ezgjan Alioski said: ‘It’s a nice stadium, it’s a big club, but it’s not so special to go there because it’s Arsenal. ‘You have some players who think like this, but it’s not enough to think “Wow, it’s Arsenal”, because we are also a good team and we want to show it.

‘We need to go there with a lot of confidence like we always do and to play like we always do. Not to be scared to go there. ‘I see the result versus Manchester United, but this United, even we can beat them. This is a cup, it’s different. ‘The difference is that they’re [Arsenal] in the Premier League, we are in the Championship, and it’s nice to go there and show them who is Leeds.

‘If we are in the Premier League, Leeds is going to be one of the biggest clubs, like I know they were before.’

Leeds United are on the course to seal their long-awaited return to the Premier League, losing just four games this season to move nine points clear of third-placed Brentford in the Sky Bet Championship.

However, these off the field incidents often illuminate the hype of the fixture and this very case is not an exception.

Alioski’s strong comments state Leeds are able to pull off a miracle at the Emirates stadium in the FA cup.
