Lana Biography: Catherine Joy Perry, popularly known by her ring name Lana, is an American professional wrestler, working with World Wrestling Entertainment for Smackdown brand. She is the wife of popular WWE superstar Miroslav Barnyashev, better known by his ring name Rusev. Lana joined WWE in 2013 along with Rusev as a manager.

During her childhood, Lana wanted to become a  ballet dancer hence she joined  Riga Choreography School and began dancing with the Latvian National Ballet at the young age of 14. Lana was also involved in music and acting and joined the ‘No Means Yes’ girl group and released music such as  “Would You Like That”, “7 Years Bad Luck” and “Burn Rubber”.

As an in-ring competitor, Lana battled with divas like Brie Bella, Naomi  Bayley and Becky Lynch.

Perry was born on March 24, 1985, in Gainesville, Florida, the U.S. At a very young age of 14, Perry joined  Riga Choreography School to become a ballet dancer and started dancing with the Latvian National Ballet. She performed at  Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Ballet Hispanico, Broadway Dance Center, and Martha Graham Center of Contemporary Dance.

Perry joined  Florida State University (FSU) in Tallahassee, Florida, for dancing and acting and later became a cheer girl as the Florida State Cowgirls. In 2009, she started taking interest in music pushing her to join No Means Yes, a girl group, that delivered albums like  “Would You Like That”, “7 Years Bad Luck” and “Burn Rubber”.

Perry resides in Nashville, Tennessee, U.S. She is married to popular WWE superstar Miroslav Barnyashev, better known by his ring name Rusev. They tied a knot on July 29, 2016. Lana previously dated actor and former American football player Isaiah Mustafa.

Perry started her professional wrestling career in 2013 when she joined WWE’s developmental territory NXT under the ring name Lana. She made her WWE main roster on Smackdown as a manager for WWE wrestler Alexander Rusev. Lana started dedicating Rusev’s matches to her “hero”, President of Russia Vladimir Putin.

Lana also involved in the storylines where she turned heels on Rusev by kissing Ziggler and recently with Bobby Lashley, whom she kissed in front of her husband Rusev. In 2016, Lana started her in-ring action against Brie Bella. She teamed up with Team BAD and Blonde members in a tag team match at the WrestleMania 32 pre-show against Bella in a losing effort.

Lana also feuded with then Smackdown Women’s Champion Naomi, but she failed to defeat her at Money In the Bank pay-per-view. She also participated in the first-ever women’s Royal Rumble match but was eliminated by Michelle McCool.

Last week on Raw, Lana betrayed Rusev and kissed Bobby Lashley, during Rusev’s Universal Championship match with Seth Rollins.
