Lack of Clarity, Confusion over Rohit Sharma’s Injury: Virat Kohli

Indian Captain Virat Kohli on Thursday said that there has been lack of confusion as well as lack of clarity behind Rohit Sharma’s injury adding that he has no idea why Indian Vice-Captain didn’t travel with the team for Australia. He said this in a virtual press conference ahead of ODI series against Australia starting from Friday. He added that we received a mail from him before selection committee meeting that he will be unavailable as he has picked up an injury during IPL.

“Before the selection meeting, we got a mail that he is unavailable, that he has picked up an injury during the IPL. It said that the pros and cons of the injury were explained to him and he understood and he was unavailable,” Kohli said.

Rohit is currently at National Rehabilitation centre in Bengaluru and still three weeks to regain his full match fitness and a 14-day quarantine protocol in Australia will mean that he will be ready to play before third test match.

“After that he played in the IPL and we all thought he would be on that flight to Australia and we had no information on why he is not travelling with us. There has been no information, there has been lack of clarity,” Kohli added.

Meanwhile, the players who are part of Indian limited-overs squad against Australia is sharing their photograph on social media while flaunting their new jersey which is identical to the jersey Indian Team wore in 1992 World Cup. However many fans believed that too much branding on the T-shirts of the new retro Indian Jersey has ruined the look of it. India is certainly a strong contender to beat Australia in Australia but this time it will not be easy for the Indian team as men in Yellow are playing this series with their two prime batsmen Steven Smith and David Warner who are good across all three formats for Australia especially in their home conditions.
