Dhoni’s game plans for CSK might seem easy, but his team makes them work perfectly. CSK’s deadly at the top of the order including the likes of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway set the IPL on fire last season as they amassed 775 runs partnership in IPL 2023.

Both batsmen have scored over 500 runs in the last season. CSK’s Shivam Dube emerged as a power-hitting machine. As he hits 35 sixes, second on the list of most sixes in IPL 2023

CSK’s biggest strength will be their batting unit in IPL 2024 as they have fantastic openers, power packed middle order including the likes of (Moeen Ali, Shivam Dubey, Ajinkya Rahane, Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni), their lower order like Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur are capable of scoring big hits during the crunch phase of the game.

In addition to their well-rounded squad, CSK has made some strategic picks at the auction as they picked New Zealand’s top scorers Rachin Ravindra and the big-hitting Daryl Mitchell, who impressed everyone with a record-breaking 552 runs against spin in the ICC World Cup. Additionally, their domestic pick, Uttar Pradesh’s Sameer Rizvi, strengthens their middle order.

Biggest challenge for CSK in this season in their batting unit will be that from last season’s winning side, they will miss injured opener Devon Conway.

The dynamic bowling duo of Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur are back together in yellow and they are ready for their bowling attacks as Chahar gets more swing in his ball during Powerplay and Shardul is best known for the Middle overs.

Ravindra Jadeja’s presence will be a great asset for CSK as he took all 20 wickets in the crucial middle overs during the last season.

Tushar Deshpande was the leading wicket taker with 21 wickets last edition and to compliment him yellow army have roped in another death over specialist Mustafizur Rahman known for his deceptive slower deliveries. This combination offers a well-rounded bowling unit capable of taking wickets throughout the innings.

CSK has bad news as Pathirana is out with a hamstring injury. But there’s good news too because Mukesh Choudhary is back after missing last season due to injury.

Once CSK qualify for the play-offs, they have leader like MS Dhoni who knows how to win big games and winning 5 IPL trophy is a perfect testament to it.

CSK will start their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 campaign against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on March 22, at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
