IPL 2023 : Sachin Tendulkar shares his first reaction on Arjun Tendulkar’s MI Debut!

Arjun Tendulkar made his IPL debut for the Mumbai Indians after waiting more than two overs to experience his big moment. The famous Sachin Tendulkar’s son, Arjun, received his IPL cap from Rohit Sharma and had a respectable debut, finishing with 0/17 from two overs.

When acting captain Surya kumar Yadav immediately tossed the ball to Arjun, there were no half-measures with him. The 23-year-old returned the favor by allowing just five runs in his first over, which also included a close LBW call. The Tendulkar family was extremely proud as father Sachin observed the action from the MI dressing room and sister Sara participated in the crowd support.

After the game, Sachin shared his feelings on social media about watching Arjun make his debut in first-class cricket, while his former India teammates Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh, and Sourav Ganguly all offered their congratulations to the Master Blaster. Arjun has now given his first-ever reflections on making his IPL debut, reflecting on the historic event.

“It was a great moment. It’s always special to play for the team I have supported since 2008. It was very nice to get the cap from the captain of MI and the Indian team.” –  said Arjun Tendulkar.

And then it was time for his father Sachin Tendulkar to share his reaction. The legendary former Batsman watched his son represent Mumbai Indians for the first time at Wankhede and said – “This was a new experience for me because till now I have not actually gone and watched him play. I just wanted him to have the freedom to go out and express himself and do whatever he wanted to.”

Then he further added that he was in dressing room so that Arjun doesn’t get nervous. “I sat in the dressing room because I didn’t want to let him move away from his plans and start looking at the mega screen here and suddenly realise that I’m watching him. I was inside. It is a different feeling because 2008 was the first season for me and 16 years down the line, he plays for the same team. Not bad. – Sachin concluded.
