IPL 2022: What has happened to Virat Kohli? The player bags third Golden duck of IPL 2022

The stalwart of Indian Cricket, Virat Kohli is going through a rough patch in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2022. After two average innings, the player was expected to put up a great display against Sunrisers Hyderabad on 08th May 2022. However, the player’s poor form continued as he got dismissed for a golden duck. This was the third golden duck for Virat Kohli in the ongoing Indian Premier League campaign.

Choosing to bat first against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Wankhede Stadium, Royal Challengers Bangalore came out of the dugout with Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis. Under the scorching sun, everyone expected the Indian international to shine bright but he was dismissed by Jagadeesha Suchith on the very first delivery of the innings.

The ball was drifting onto the pads and the right-handed batsman gave a dolly to the midwicket fielder Kane Williamson. After the golden ducks against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants, this was the third time he got dismissed for a nought. And overall, he got dismissed for the sixth time for a golden duck in the Indian Premier League.

Virat Kohli’s poor form this season:

After starting the season on a high note against Punjab Kings with 41 from 29 deliveries, a lot was expected from the player. However, as the season progressed, his form tapered down. He scored 48 against Mumbai Indians and came into the winning cause.

In the middle, the player had succumbed to two back-to-back golden ducks but came back with ten runs in the next game. He has only one fifty in the campaign but was a slow knock that drew criticism from all the ends.

His fifty came up against the Gujarat Titans in the tenth of the season. He scored 58 runs from 53 deliveries. In the next game, he scored 30 from 33 deliveries but never looked comfortable in the middle.
