Indian spinner Sneha Rana leapfrogs to career best 6th in ICC T20I bowlers' ranking!

Seems like Women’s cricket in India will not stop growing as after so many bright developments, another came into the fore. This time Indian spinner Sneha Rana, who plays as a bowling all-rounder for the Blues registered a career best jump to ICC T20I rankings earlier today.

Before the latest calculations came out, the off-spinner was in 10th position in the bowlers’ ranking following her performances in the recently concluded tri-series between India, West Indies and South Africa. She took 2 wickets by giving 21 runs in the final against South Africa.

Although, India lost the final but Sneha Rana will be delighted to go 4 spots higher in the rankings. It will be a massive boost for her just ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World cup at South Africa. The senior women’s team is looking to get their hands on their first ever international trophy and will look to follow the same lead as the U-19 team which won the WC last month.

Elsewhere in the rankings, England’s Sophie Ecclestone retained the number 1 spot while Nonkululeko Mlaba replaced Deepti Sharma from the 2nd spot and the Indian bowler dropped to 3rd. England’s Sarah Glenn while Australian Megan Schutt take the 4th and 5th position.

Right arm medium fast bowler Renuka Singh who was the ICC Women’s emerging player of 2022 also suffered deduction and dropped to 8th from 7th spot. In terms of Batting rankings, Smriti Mandhana and U-19 World cup winning captain Shafali Verma took the 3rd and 8th spot respectively in the updated list by ICC.
