IND Vs SL 3rd ODI Find out the players who helped Mohammed Siraj to pick a 5-wicket haul

India’s clash with Sri-Lanka for a 3-match ODI series has come to an end as the hosts have whitewashed the visitors by 3-0. India have been handed with many positives from the series win which includes clarity in the batting order, players finding their form and the team performing like a unit.

The side is looking well-balanced and well managed. If they successfully maintain the same level, India can win the ICC Cricket World Cup at home soil later this year. The upcoming ODI series’ can be called as preparations for the showpiece event.

But all the focus of Indian cricket right now is on Mohammad Siraj who demonetized Sri-Lanka’s batting order and removed 4 batters. He was aiming to notch his first 5-wicket haul ever in ODI Cricket but he fell one wicket shy off the figures.

However, his bowling was something that the Lankans could not deal with and his performance will put him into the conversation of probable pacers for India at the World cup. He helped for the win with figures of 4/32 in his quota of 10-overs.

Siraj’s teammates as well as his captain tried everything they could to help the Hyderabad born pacer finish the match with 5-wickets. Rohit Sharma deliberately handed Shreyas Iyer to bowl an over so that Siraj could get a fifer.

Mohammad Shami and Kuldeep yadav were also seen bowling without much intensity just to help their teammate. This shows the unity inside the team and willingness to help each other.

Meanwhile, Siraj’s contribution helped India bowl Sri-Lanka out for 73 and his role was crucial behind India’s largest victory in ODI cricket.

“Good to see how he was bowling and he deserved all those slips. He is a rare talent, the way he has come up over the last few years is good to see. He has come from strength to strength and that’s really good for Indian cricket. Today we tried all things to give him a fifer but he missed out. It will arrive soon”.  Skipper Rohit Sharma after the match had high praise for Mohammad Siraj as he anchored the bowling line-up.

Siraj also praised Rohit Sharma’s humble attitude and the support he showed to him – “Rohit Bhaiya tried his best to help me get 5-wickets, even while giving the ball to Iyer.”
