IND Vs SL 3rd ODI : Are we witnessing Virat Kohli "Prime 2.0"?

Kohli moves to 46 ODI hundreds and only needs 4 more to topple Sachin Tendulkar

India’s Ace Batter Virat Kohli has well and truly announced himself once at again at the highest level. His story would be one of the most remembered ones and he will be looking to keep the same template intact in last stretch of his cricketing career.

The 33-year-old after 2 years without a 100 has now scored 4 in the last 6 months and 3 within a space of a month. Against the Lankans during the 3rd ODI, Virat Kohli battered the bowling unit to score 166 off 110. He partnered with Shubhman Gill for a 131-run stand as India posted 390. Sri-Lanka’s response was rather embarrassing and they were all out for 73 but are we witnessing Virat Kohli Prime 2.0?

If we are then there is good news as India will host New Zealand for another 3-ODI’s in 3 days time. Kohli has a chance of equaling Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 49 ODI centuries or at least get closer to that figure. New Zealand have been tough opponents for India and their last meeting 2 months ago was heavily interrupted by Weather conditions.

Hyderabad, Raipur and Madhya Pradesh could see another Virat Kohli masterclass. The momentum Kohli and team India have early on in the year could be the answer that the team was looking for. Sri-Lanka as opponents were strong but injuries made them weaker. As a result India

New Zealand on the other hand are far stronger than them. They will fly to the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium having won an ODI series against Pakistan earlier this month and it will be a major challenge for India before the World Cup.
