World Cup 2023 : Shubhman Gill, the promising opener for team India

The rivalry between India & Sri lanka has began with the 1st ODI between both the teams and India’s batting line up is looking a quite well. With the senior players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, the men in blue also consists of some young blooding which has proved to go right.

For the Sri Lanka series, India has experimented with Shubhman Gill as an opener on which many negative comments and controversies held. Shubhman Gill has been the replacement of Ishan Kishan. Ishan slammed a double century in his last ODI, still Shubhman was selected for the playing XI, which raised many questions.

But, now this decision seems to be right, as the performance of Gill has been outstanding in the last few games. Like in today’s match against Sri Lanka, Gill opened with Rohit Sharma and scored 70 off 60 deleveries. In previous ODI’s also Gill performed quite well.
