IND Vs AUS 1st ODI : Watch Athiya Shetty's post for the most resilient person in her life after KL Rahul sealed the win!

One of India’s most classy batsman KL Rahul returned to his usual ways last night against Australia in the 1st ODI of a 3-match ODI series. Rahul produced an outstanding performance in a very tough situation and kept playing according to the merit of the ball and sailed India through a 5-wicket victory at Wankhede.

This knock by Rahul was very important for his survival in the Indian team after getting stripped off Captaincy from Tests and was also dropped in the final 2 BGT Tests. He proved a point at Mumbai last night and his wife Athiya Shetty posted a picture of Rahul with an inspirational caption.

Athiya Shetty took to Instagram and wrote – “To the most resilient person I know…@klrahul.”

Fans on Social media are loving Athiya Shetty’s post and for now it seems Rahul will be given his chance to play in the following ODIs at Vishkhapatnam and Bangalore.

After winning the toss at Wankhede, India’s captain for the 1st ODI Hardik Pandya elected to bowl first and after a storming start by the Aussies powered by Mitchell Marsh’s 81. However, the hosts fought back and bowled out Steve Smith’s side for just 188 runs with 3 wickets for Mohammade Shami and Siraj, Ravindra Jadeja registered a brace while Kuldeep Yadav and Hardik Pandya picked a scalp each.

In response, India were expected to get off to flyer through the new opening partnership of Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill but the former could only score 3 runs while Gill got out for 20 runs. Virat Kohli who was searching yet another century got out for just 4 and the monstrous Surya Kumar Yadav departed for a Golden duck.

Then KL Rahul and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja got set to the crease and made a partnership of 108 runs. Rahul scored an unbeaten 75 off 91 with Seven 4s and a 6 while Ravindra Jadeja provided the supporting hand and amassed 45 off 90.
