If Serena manages to win French Open it will be her 24th Grand slam title.

Three times Roland Garos Champion Williams has been stuck on 23 titles since 2017 which is one behind Margaret Court’s record.

The 39 year swashbuckling tennis player is currently the seventh seed in Paris but has not been past the fourth round here since the final in 2016, fell 4-2 behind in the second set as Buzarnescu broke for the first time.

Taking about the match Williams was back to her dominant self as she stole her opponent’s serve in the next game and successfully managed to set up two break points in the 11th game.

Buzarnescu kept her composure in the second set to level match points at 5-5 but the experience of Williams prevailed in the crunch moments of the game as she manages to set up her next round clash with fellow Americans Danielle Collins.

Williams has fallen in four Grand Slams final and earlier this year she lost in the semifinal round clash at the Australian Open.

She has also missed few tournaments after undergoing oral surgery and played only three tour-level matches heading into the ongoing French Open.
