Defending Champion Rafael Nadal breezes into third round of French Open

Tennis legend Rafael Nadal reached into the third round of French Open 2020 after outclassing  American player  Mackenzie McDonald by 6-1, 6-0, 6-3. It was one-sided game for the Spaniard as he dominated all the sets and sealed an easy victory.

It was his 95th victory at Roland Garros which makes him the best player who has competed in the French Open till date as he is all set to clinch yet another title. If Nadal wins this title he will equal the record of Swiss great Roger Federer who has won 20th Grand Slam singles title in his carrier.

The claycourt master played deep, using his forehand to devastating effect to set up a meeting with Japanese Kei Nishikori or Italian Stefano Travaglia.

After registering the victory against McDonald he talked about the things which went in his favour in detail.

“My objective is to play as well as I can. It was a good match for me today. I’m very happy,” said Nadal. “Then it’s another difficult match. We’ll see, I hope I’ll be at a good level. It’s always special for me to play here in Paris, on court Philippe Chatrier.

The greatness of Nadal can be very well judged by the number of titles he has clinched overall in all the tournaments he has played till date which includes 35 ATP Tour Master 1000 titles, 21 ATP Tour Master 500 titles and the 2008 Olympic gold medal in singles and the 2016 Olympic gold medal in doubles.

If we dissect his 19 Singles grand slam titles which he won till date which includes French Open Title for record 12 times, Four US Open titles, Two Wimbledon titles and one Australian Open titles.

He has represented his national team in Davis Cup five times where he has 29 match winning streak also at the age of 24 he became the seventh male player to win the first carrier grand slam title.
