Big Breaking: Raebareli Hockey Stadium to be renamed after Former Skipper Rani Rampal

Rani Ramipal, a former captain of India, has made significant progress in the sport of hockey.

She has now had her name added to the name of the MCF Stadium in Raebareli.

Rani Rampal expressed her gratitude for the stadium being renamed in her honour and her hope that it will motivate all other players.

Words seem too less to express my happiness and gratitude as I share that the MCF Raebareli has renamed the hockey stadium to “Rani’s Girls Hockey Turf “to honour my contribution to hockey.

She also shared pictures on her official Twitter handle where she is seen interacting players and talking with officials about the facility related to the stadium provided to younger players.

She wrote further on her official Twitter handle, “I am extremely happy with this honour and being the first women to have hockey stadium named after her is one of the biggest days in her life. I hope that it inspires next lot of cricketer to take up the sport”.

She also expressed her gratitude towards Indian Hockey management and team players for supporting her during thick and thin moments of her life.

Rani Rampal returned to Indian Hockey setup after a long time as she last played for the national side in 2021 editions of FIH Pro League.

The event was extra special when she played her last game, was her 250th game, but couldn’t continue after that was subsequently left out from Commonwealth Games  2022 squad.

Indian women’s Hockey team has improved a lot and credit for this massive transformation goes to established players like Rani Rampal, Savita Punia and Vandana Katariya for inspiring the next lot of young players to take up the sport professionally.

Equal credit should be given to SAI(Sports Authority of India) and Hockey India for bringing reforms in the ecosystem of Indian Hockey.
