Bernd Leno also is known as the Penalty Killer is a German professional Footballer who plays as a Goalkeeper for the German national team and Premier League club Arsenal.
EARLY LIFE
Leno was born on 4th March 1992 in Bietigheim-Bissingen, Germany to mother Roe Leno and father Viktor Leno.
His family is from Germain-Russian origin thanks to his father who is half German and half Russian. Leno’s passion for football developed at a very young age.
At the age of 6, he decided to take football seriously as his career.
PERSONAL LIFE
Bernd Leno, I currently dating his girlfriend Sophie Christin, They have been together since 15th August 2015.
Sophie is a marketing student who also does modeling as a side hobby. She is a German and Czech descent born on 17th February 1997.

CLUB CAREER
Leno started his career in football from SV Germania Bietigheim as a youth player. He started playing as a midfielder. During his time with the club, he gradually started polishing his skills as well as trying to get an enrolment in the bigger clubs.
At the age of 11 Leno successfully passed the trial of VfB Stuttgart and joined its Youth team. At this time he realized his true potential of being a goalkeeper and thus quit the position of midfielder. Gradually he was promoted to the senior side of the team.
On 10th August 2011, he was loaned to Bayer Leverkusen till for four months. Playing for the club he debut against Werder Bremen. His performance in Bundesliga was remarkable as he keeps a clean sheet in his first three matches.
He also became the youngest player to ever play in a Champions League match in 2011-12 UEFA Champions’ League group stage match against Chelsea.
Seeing his performances in the Bundesliga Bayer Leverkusen kept Leno until 2017. He continued delivering strings of impressive performances till he completed his 300th appearance for the club, as after that he moved to the Premier League club Arsenal on 19th June 2018 for 22.5 million euros.
Leno made his debut for Arsenal in 4-2 victory against the Vorskla Poltava in the Europa League. His performance was so good in the coming matches that he was included in the top three goalkeepers of the team.
INTERNATIONAL CAREER
In October 2015, he was made his senior debut in the Germany team against the Republic of Ireland and Georgia. Further, he made his appearance in the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup and 2018 FIFA World Cup.
CONTROVERSY
In June 2019 Leno commented a controversial statement upon the selection of Europa League final match venue. He termed the venue selection as a scandal because the venue was decided in amid of political hostilities between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
