Christiane Endler Biography: Christiane Endler is a Chilean professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for the Chile women’s national team and Paris Saint- Germain. She is known as the penalty stopper world-wide, her quick reflexes, excellent shot-stopping abilities, long-range throwing potential, command over the area with accurate control and distribution of the ball makes her top on the list of goalkeepers. Her playing style is very much like the German goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. Christiane’s confident and charismatic performances have raised the standards of women’s football.
EARLY LIFE:
Endler was born on 23rd of July 1991 in Santiago Chile from a German father and Chilean mother, due to which she holds the citizenship of Germany as well as Chile. Since childhood, she has been indulged in almost every kind of sports including tennis, swimming, hockey, basketball, volleyball, gymnastics and finally football which she finally chooses as her full-time dedication. She started playing from various positions until the former Chilean goalkeeper Marco Cornez suggested her try goalkeeping. Marco’s advice was like God’s voice, she immediately started playing football as a goalkeeper. She attended college for two years in the United States playing as a goalkeeper for the University of South Florida in 2012 and 2013.

Endler knows many languages she speaks Spanish, Portuguese, English, German and a bit of French. She idolizes the German footballer and former Bayern Munich goalkeeper Oliver Kahn.
PROFESSIONAL LIFE
Endler has a very rich experience in her professional career, she had seen ups and downs and had overcome every obstacle, she started her professional career with Union La Calera from 2008 she played for the club for at least one year and then join Everton in 2010, then Colo-Colo in 2011-12, she have been awarded as the Chilean female Player of the Year for three consecutive years from 2008-2010 in a row during her debut period in the Everton and Colo-Colo. In 2014 she was signed by Chelsea but due to the injuries, she wasn’t able to play in the season ahead.
She joined the Valencia CF in 2016 before her one year return from Chile. In 2017 she finally signed a three-year contract with the Paris Saint- Germain till 2021. For the national team, she experienced her first international match at the age of 17, in the 2008 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. She has been serving the Chile national team since 2009, she became the highest capped player on Chile’s roster for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, which was also the time when she marked her senior debut. For her outstanding performance against the United States where she saved 13 goals, she has been voted as the Player of the Match.
