The greatest wall of Indian cricket Rahul Dravid, a legendary player who accumulated over 10,000 runs in ODIs and 13,288 runs in Test cricket, celebrated his 50th birthday today.
Before deciding to take on the position of Head Coach for the national team, he managed the National Cricket Academy for a considerable amount of time.
In order for India to win the World Cup in 2023, his record as a coach has been mixed thus far, and there are still many issues that he needs to resolve.
BCCI, a cricket player, and fans post birthday greetings for him on social media. Here are a few of the responses that were expressed:
Happy birthday Rahul sir!
You are an inspiration and a legend!
Thank you for giving me the space and the freedom in the team to go out there and be myself on the ground! 🙌 pic.twitter.com/7zFYhBzSJF— Surya Kumar Yadav (@surya_14kumar) January 11, 2023

13,288 runs don't tell you the real story. Nor do the 36 test hundreds.
31,258 balls and 44,152 exhausting bruising grinding minutes, nobody has spent as much time or played as many balls in the history of test cricket.

Rahul Dravid was a fantastic player for Men in Blue, and he had an unmatched capacity for taking the world by storm. In his innings at the Eden Gardens Test in Kolkata, where he was second fiddle to VVS Laxman, he was up there, standing on those 22 yards like a wall and made sure that the Men in Blue crossed the finish line.
The illustrious batter developed players like Prithvi Shaw, Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, and many others.
With the World Test Championship final and the World Cup 2023 serving as back-up tournaments, Rahul Dravid’s performance as India’s head coach has been below average. To win those competitions, technical expertise would be needed.
