Ranji trophy Mumbai Vs Assam : Prithvi Shaw slams 100 in the first session

Prithvi Shaw vs BCCI Selectors! Who to Blame

Is it time for him to improve his behaviour in order to break into the National team?

Ranji Trophy : In ongoing Ranji Trophy, Mumbai’s opener Prithvi Shaw played a great great knock by scoring a double century against Assam and this was the 2nd double century of his first class career. He took just 235 balls to reach the milestone. With this knock, Shaw brings a massive start for the team. Before the match started, toss was won by Assam and they invited Mumbai to bat first.

Prithvi Shaw : Shaw has been the part of India A squad against New Zealand in September. Despite this, Shaw has not been selected for any of the series played recently by India. So, the recent knock of Shaw could be the answer and a knock to the door of the selectors. He played last for India in July 2021 on the Sri Lanka tour. Since, then it has been a huge gap for him to be the part of the team.

But, not everytime the problem is of onfield performances, but could be other reasons like behaviour issues. In case of Prithvi Shaw this could be relatable as it has been reported that Shaw has an attitude problem. He has an uncompromising nature and is arrogant to some extent, being more focussed on social media rather than his game. Selectors were not happy with this Shaw’s attitude which resulted in his drop from the squad.

Few ago, Prithvi said to remain more focussed on his game and will improve the quality of his game. So, his recent performances might open the eyes of the selectors and make his comeback possible. This shows that along with the on field performances, a player’s sports spirit & behavioural habits also matters a lot.
