Australian Open 2023: Will Magda Linette make an upset or will Aryna Sabalenka continue her dream run?

Magda Linette and Aryna Sabalenka will compete against each other tomorrow on Saturday at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne Park, Australia in the Women’s singles Semi-Final here at the Australian Open 2023.

The 2023 season of the Australian Open is in it’s last phase where the semi-finals and finals are left for all the five major categories. The women’s singles semi-finals will take place tomorrow with both the matches set to be played at the Rod Laver Arena.

The second women’s singles semi-final match will be played tomorrow between Magda Linette of Poland and Aryna Sabalenka of Russia. Magda is an unseeded player whereas Sabalenka is seeded 3rd at the Australian Open 2023.

Magda Linette started the season on a high winning the first round easily. In the second round match, she came from a set down and won the match. In the third round, she beat 19th ranked Ekaterina Alexandrova in straight sets and reached Round 4.

Her round 4 match was against fourth seeded Caroline Garcia whom Linette beat in staright sets. Finally, she beat 30th ranked Karolina Pliskova in the quarters to reach the semi-finals of the Australian Open 2023 Grand Slam.

Aryna Sabalenka’s journey has been a lot different than that of Linette’s. She has not dropped a set till now in the competition and has played like a true champion. She has dominated all of her matches till now in the tournament and looks like a proper contender of the title.
