Australian Open 2023: Who will be crowned the Queen of Melbourne for the first time ever?

Elena Rybakina and Aryna Sabalenka will compete against each other tomorrow at the Rod Laver Arena for lifting the prestigious Australian Open 2023 trophy in the women’s singles category.

Elena Rybakina reached the finals beating her opponent Victoria Azarenka in straight sets in the semi-finals. The twenty second seed from Kazakhstan defeated Victoria Azarenka from Russia 7-6 (7-4), 6-3.

Aryna Sabalenka who is the fifth seed on the other hand beat her opponent Magda Linette in straight sets in the semis. It was complete domination by the Russian Sabalenka against Linette as she defeated Linette 7-6 (7-1), 6-2.

Rybakina already has one Grand Slam title to her name as she won the Wimbledon 2022 in the women’s singles category. Sabalenka does not have any women’s singles Grand Slam title but has doubles title to her name.

Rybakina’s journey in the tournament has been full of mixed emotions as she has rode on luck in few of her matches. She has played good tennis too as she defeated the top seed Iga Swiatek on her way to the finals.

Sabalenka has completely dominated all her matches and has not even dropped a single set in the tournament till now. She has shown marvelous strength and agility and has been on top of her game.

I think it will be a contest between Elena Rybakina’s sharp mind and strong serve versus Aryna Sabalenka’s strength and agility. This is the first time both of these players are playing in the finals of Australian Open and it is completely sure that we are going to have a first-time winner this time around at the Australian Open in the women’s singles category.
