Ashish Chaudhary is an Indian Boxer and was born in a middle-class family in Dhahotu, Mandi district, Himachal Pradesh. 

In his early life, Ashish’s interest in sports was from the very beginning as his father, Bhagat Ram Dogra himself was a national Kabaddi player and all his brothers are into wrestling or boxing. 

Ashish Chaudhary’s biggest inspiration was his brothers to take boxing as a professional career choice. Ashish has two brothers as one brother is in boxing and another one on the wrestling field. Initially, he tried his hand at wrestling but soon lost interest and started boxing.

As being from a boxer family background, Ashish Chaudhary’s father Late Bhagat Ram Dogra saw his son’s talent and work ethic. To begin with, Ashish Chaudhary started his training at Sundarnagar Boxing Academy in Himachal Pardesh.

At the age of 14, Ashish Chaudhary decided to move to Bhiwani to continue his career in boxing. In 2009, Ashish competed in his first junior state competition and won the gold medal.

In 2015, Ashish went on to win a gold medal in his 35th National Games held in Kerala.

Finally, after all the word work done at the national and state levels, Ashish Chaudhary made his international debut at the India Open International Boxing Championship and ended his tour in the quarterfinals. Ashish also participated in President’s Cup and in International Boxing Tournament in Stranja, Bulgaria.

At the 2019 Thailand Open, Ashish Chaudhary claimed a gold medal in the middleweight category, and later he won another silver medal in the Asian Boxing Championship.

Ashish Chaudhary’s biggest win of his boxing career was to qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Ashish Chaudhary reached the semifinals of the 2020 Asia and Oceania boxing Olympic qualification tournament which was held in Amman, Jordan.

Although, the Indian boxer will be featured in Commonwealth Games 2022 for the very first time and fans have high hopes for the young boxer and are expected to win a medal in the category of 80 kgs men’s boxing.

Indian Boxer, Ashish Chaudhary claimed the silver medal in the 2019 Asian Championship held in Bangkok.

In the same year. Ashish won the silver medal at the India Open.

Ashish Chaudhary won his maiden Big Bout Indian Boxing League held in 2019. Ashish Chaudhary played in the middleweight category for Gujarat Giants as the team won the league.

Indian Boxer, Ashish Chaudhary was awarded the Parshuram Award by the Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister.

In 2020, Ashish Chaudhary tested positive for COVID-19 and was eventually, eliminated from the final round of the Boxam International Tournament held in Castellon, Spain.

Unfortunately, Ashish was not the only one who got banned from the final round. Ashish Chaudhary at that time roommates Mohammed Hussamuddin (57 kgs) and Sumit Sangwan (81 kgs) from the event.

As a result, team India was disqualified from the finals and later on, all three Indian boxers were given Silver Medals.
