“Yash Dayal fell ill and reduced 8 Kilos after Rinku Singh smacked him for 5 sixes!” GT skipper Hardik Pandya reveals

Yash Dayal was at the receiving end when KKR batter Rinku Singh scripted a historic and never seen before inning to help his side prevail over the reigning IPL champions Gujarat Titans. It was a very pressure situation as KKR were 28 runs away from securing the Win in the last over.

While Rinku Singh held his nerves until the end, Yash Dayal succumbed to the pressure and got consumed by it. The 25-year-old GT seamer bowled poor deliveries as his execution was not good enough. While trying to bowl yorkers, Dayal ended bowling full tosses and on the slot for Rinku Singh.

After that punishment at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Yash Dayal is yet to appear for Gujarat Titans and captain Hardik Pandya gave clarification around his absence by suggesting he is not game ready following the incident during KKR Vs GT.

Last year, Dayal was one of GT’s main bowlers and reasons behind Gujarat clinching the IPL title in their debut season. In 9 appearances he picked 11 wickets and had an economy rate of 9.25 last year. But this year he was dragged down to the reality and became a subject of massive outrage by opposing batter.

“I can’t confirm that on his chances of Yash Dayal playing again this season. He fell ill and lost 7-8 kilos after that match. There was a spread of viral infection during that period and also due to the pressure he had faced, his condition is presently not good enough to take the field.” – Hardik Pandya when asked about Yash Dayal’s chances of returning.

Pandya in fact stated that somebody else will have to fill Yash Dayal’s void and indicated towards an uncertain date of his return. Someone’s loss is someone’s gain at the end of the day. It is going to take a long time before we see him on the field.” Hardik concluded.
