The Women's Premier League will hold its 2027 player auction in Kochi on Wednesday, 28 October 2026. A pool of 146 shortlisted players will compete for 27 available slots across the five franchises, and the list was announced on 19 October.

The pool has 22 capped Indians, 14 capped overseas players, 97 uncapped Indians and 13 uncapped foreigners. That makes 119 Indians in total, with 20 slots available for Indian players. The 27 overseas players, including six from Associate Nations, are competing for seven overseas slots.

Base prices fall into five brackets: Rs 50 lakh, Rs 40 lakh, Rs 30 lakh, Rs 20 lakh and Rs 10 lakh. Only two players sit in the top bracket of Rs 50 lakh: Australia's Sophie Molineux and England's Sophia Dunkley.

Four players are listed at Rs 40 lakh: Gunalan Kamalini, Kiran Navgire, Heather Graham and Jess Jonassen. A further 30 players are at Rs 30 lakh, a group that includes Sneh Rana, Chamari Athapaththu and Grace Harris.

Several of the best-known names arrive after being let go by their previous teams. Mumbai Indians released Kamalini before the auction, Delhi Capitals offloaded Rana, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru released Molineux.

Other notable names in the pool include Titas Sadhu, Asha Sobhana, Saika Ishaque, Devika Vaidya, Chloe Tryon, Orla Prendergast and Rosemary Mair. The uncapped Indians include Shweta Sehrawat, Vrinda Dinesh, Gongadi Trisha and Shabnam Shakil.

Scotland's Sarah Bryce and Kathryn Bryce are among the players from Associate Nations who have entered the auction. Dunkley, one of the two players at the highest base price, played for Gujarat Giants in the 2024 season of the league.

The 2027 edition will be the fifth season of the WPL. The auction takes place in Kochi on Wednesday, 28 October, when the franchises will fill the 27 slots from the 146 players shortlisted.
