World number 1 men’s singles tennis player Novak Djokovic enters in the second round of US Open after beating Damir Dzumhur of Bosnia by 6-1, 6-4, 6-1.

The Serbian star is expected to win his fourth US Open title as majority of top-class players like Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray have pulled out from the mega event due to rise of COVID-19 cases in America.

If Djokovic wins his fourth US Open title then, in that case, it will be his 18th Grand Slam singles title-chasing the record of two world-class players who are Nadal and Federer who have won 19th and 20th Singles Grand Slam titles respectively.

The ongoing US Open is played behind closed doors keeping all safety and security procedures in mind.

He will be next playing against Kyle Edmund in the second round. Edmund outclassed Alexander Bublik in the first round encounter which happened on Monday.

India’s Sumit Nagal would be in action today in US Open as he would lock horns against Bradley Klahn in the first round match.

There should be a proper Infrastructure that needs to be created by Tennis Federation of India especially lot of work needs to be done at the grassroot level so that good talent can prevail in singles category.
