Justin “Plup” McGrath experienced his first panic attack when competing in the world’s biggest fighting game tournament.  This incident happened in 2018 post that a thousand fans flooded messages on social media extending their support towards star players and fellow competitor Juan “Hungrybox” Debiedma, a Melee Player was constantly checking on McGrath.

Once the event was done and dusted, McGrath took to Twitter to express his feelings in detail. 

“I’ve been a mess ever since,” he wrote after his elimination from the tournament. “It’s quite disconcerting knowing I could start spazzing out any time I get on stage. It’s one more thing to worry about for tournaments, and just writing this is making my heart race.”

What this Tweet indicate, Life being Esports player is not easy where you are constantly trying hard to furnish your skills and keeping a close eye on your competitors to ensure that you are always ahead of the game.

When the world you are participating is competitive video gaming arena, it is clear that your life is not easy as Professional Esports player. 

You might call players as legends in Esports who knows how do perform in crunch moments with complete precision and control but deep down every player is human who will face wrath if you are not performing to the best of your ability.

There are several reasons which has greatly contributed towards eloping mental pressure on professional Esports player which include- Spending 95 percent of your time playing video games to furnishing your skills, also you need to constantly engage your fans on social media platforms which itself is a daunting task.

Also shelf life in Sports is not so long if the players met with injuries the career is even narrower and professional esports player career ranges from the age of 14 to 24 years old and the moment person reaches at at the age of 24 they actually retire as their reflexes becomes weaker with that age as the game is solely based on hand-eye coordination. 

Video games are often a form of escapism where players hide behind characters, sword and swims to entertain and engage their fans but when this entertainment becomes a job, It can become daunting task for players. 

All the success and glory that Esports brings is unlimited but the world of Esports is lonely, it can make mess of anyone.
