On a slower surface, du Plessis and Maxwell continued their momentum by choosing to bat (55 off 44 balls and 54 off 33 balls, respectively), but the Royals’ disciplined bowling performance prevented RCB from reaching a respectable score.

Down the order, Anuj Rawat scored 29 not out off only 11 balls, pushing the RCB total above 170 as they added 51 runs in the final five overs.

The most effective Royals pitchers were left-arm spinner Adam Zampa of Australia (4-0-25-2) and pacer KM Asif (4-0-42-2), while Sandeep Sharma only claimed one wicket.
